There are 2 types of Liquidity Providers: 1) Passive 2) Active Passive Liquidity Providers seek out pools with deep liquidity to minimize risk and maximize long-term returns. They’re happy to park their assets into pools for longer periods of time and earn fees for their participation. Active Liquidity Providers usually have the knowledge of Passive LP’s, but also add a layer of trading experience where they follow market trends/charts and willingly enter/exit their liquidity from pools at levels they deem significant. Essentially, these poolers understand the mechanics of pools in the context of trading. Passive Liquidity Providers can become Active Liquidity Providers (and vice versa). We encourage THORChain LP’s to develop a toolkit of skills so that they can develop new edges to their game.
