Hi, I'm Lauren, the founder of LPD Tech, a company creating rehabilitation tools to enable users to get access to rehabilitation when they need it.
I am a product designer with a keen interest in rehabilitation and helping people to feel and perform at their best. LPD Tech was born from my design project at Loughborough University, where my research showed me that certain patient groups don't always have access to rehabilitation at the point it would have the most impact on their recovery.
The group I focussed on was stroke, as they have a 3-month window after the stroke where they are more likely to make a significant recovery. This led to the creation of Aulm, an upper limb rehabilitation aid. Aulm is a tool that enables stroke survivors to carry out rehabilitation exercises at home, away from a therapist.
As well as developing Aulm, I provide product development services as described above.
