Since 1905, the Lyon Olympic Chess club animates chess life in Lyon and in France. After more than a century of history our club remains a real institution hosting almost a hundred competitive events per year including 4 Open Internationals. Not to mention our interventions in 40 schools, medical institutes or even penitentiaries. In addition to a strong associative and sporting activity, we have been able to ensure our duty to disseminate the Chess game and its contribution to social ties. With its 600m² premises and the good will of many members, volunteers, coaches, animators, amateur players and also International Grand Masters,... we pursue our various commitments diligently and successfully, including the one of Handicap. Indeed, in addition to numerous partnerships with disability institutes such as UNADEV, AEPA or AFP, we carry out numerous actions for people with disabilities in the form of initiations to chess such as in schools, or Saturday afternoon tournaments to which they are specially invited via our partners.
