Metropole Films launched in January 2006 with the objective to bring the best of international and national cinema to Quebec cinephiles.
Since our inception, Metropole Films has had the privilege of distributing six Palme d'or winners: 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007), The Class (2008), The White Ribbon (2009), Amour (2012), Blue is the Warmest Color (2013), Winter Sleep (2014); seven Academy Award winners: The Lives of Others (2006), The Counterfeiters (2007), The Secret in Their Eyes (2009), In a Better World (2010), A Separation (2011), Amour (2012), The Great Beauty (2014); and many other award winning films from around the world, such as Blue Jasmine, Midnight in Paris, Pina, Of Gods and Men and War Witch.
Each year we distribute over sixty films in theatre and more than the double on video. Our mandate is to acquire films in festivals and markets from around the world, and to feature the finest of Quebec based producers. We also have the exclusive rights to distribute the prestigious catalogue of world cinema from Mongrel Media (www.mongrelmedia.com) in Quebec.
