Madrid Center for Interdisciplinary European Studies (MACIES), as a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the European Commission, aims to foster a spirit of interdisciplinarity and collaboration among students and academics in the area of European Union (EU) studies at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), as well as among Spanish institutions and the general public. Our ambition is for MACIES-UC3M to be a central institution, not only in the formation and production of EU scholarship, but also in the integration of scientific knowledge for the formulation of European public policy to help address current challenges (Science for EU Policy). To this end, the MACIES team will promote research and teaching excellence, while weaving an institutional network that enhances UC3M's academic, political and public impact.
