Marine Bioservices Ltd provides expert scientific advice. We undertake research and provide our clients expert guidance and solutions for a range of marine science problems and questions. We also undertake a wide range of novel and applied marine research focused on understanding organism-habitat-environment relationships in benthic marine ecosystems. Specifically, habitat and seascape configuration in driving community and biodiversity structure, and understanding the relationships between bio-physical drivers and ecological processes that generate and maintain benthic biodiversity and assemblage composition. MBS has undertaken a wealth of biodiversity, fish-habitat and habitat mapping programs and surveys integrating fine-scale fish surveys with large-scale habitat mapping and biodiversity programmes. This research integrates bio-physical data from multiple disciplines (e.g. ecology, geomorphology, biogeochemistry and oceanography) with cutting edge mapping technologies (e.g. high-resolution acoustic mapping, AUV, video-mosaicing) using sophisticated sampling tools (fibre-optic tow-camera systems, AUV’s, submersibles) and advanced analytical tools including spatially-explicit, multivariate, and predictive modelling approaches. This innovative research has been published in internationally peer-reviewed journals, including an award for best journal publication, and has addressed a wide range of management and conservation needs.
