Marquardt Romania is a German company located in Sibiu, owned by the Marquardt Group and producing high-end mechatronics.
The Marquardt Group is a family-owned company founded in 1925, one of the world's leading manufacturers of innovative mechatronics. It produces control panels, shift by wire, vehicle access systems, driver authorization and intelligent battery management systems for electric vehicles which are used by leading companies in the global automotive industry. The Group also produces switching systems for household appliances, industrial applications and high power machine tools. The Group has 10,000 employees in its 21 subsidiaries in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.
The Romanian branch of Marquardt (MSR) started production in 2006, presently relying on the sustained work and talent of 1600 employees. Operations are carried out in two factories (MSR1 and MSR2, both located in the West Sibiu Industrial Zone) and fall in two main operational units: Human Machine Interface and Entry Authorization Systems. Both units have the necessary technologies (Electronics, Injection Plastic Molding, Assembly, Laser) and are supported by a Technology Unit, which provides Technological Expertise, Maintenance and additional Painting & Laser services.
Marquardt Sibiu concentrates its conception and design activity in the Research & Development Center, established locally in 2008. The main departments of the R&D Center are Project Management, Software Development, Software Testing, Mechanical Design, PCB Design and Product Technical Testing. The R&D Center in Sibiu has become a hub of international expertise in the field of Human-Machine Interface.
The newest unit of the Sibiu subsidiary is the Marquardt Business Services service center, which provides Financial, Human Resources, Procurement, and IT services for the Group's subsidiaries worldwide.
