Materiaali-insinöörikilta (MIK) is the interest group of materials science students in Tampere. Goal of MIK is to connect students studying materials science and materials engineering to each other. We organize events where our members can spend their free time, for example sport tournaments and sauna evenings. MIK has also career oriented events which are usually organized with companies.
Our members will become experts on materials science and engineering. They are able to solve problems of the future. How could we recycle plastics more efficiently? What kind of materials could replace oil based plastics? How to produce lighter metals that have same properties as heavier ones have? How to protect products from weather, wear and corrosion?
