Mathematics Münster

We advance cutting-edge research by implementing integrated approaches to solve fundamental problems across various mathematical disciplines. These approaches combine different techniques, perspectives, or fields of expertise to address challenges comprehensively. We are guided by the three unifying principles Dynamics–Geometry–Structure. This means we thoroughly analyse the dynamics of (semi)group actions, consistently adopt a geometric perspective, and identify the deeper, often hidden structures behind a specific problem. Since 2019, Mathematics Münster has been funded as a Cluster of Excellence at the University of Münster under the Federal and State Governments' Excellence Strategy.
