Matrix began manufacturing machine tools in Coventry in 1913. We were original innovators of thread grinding technology of the time using tried and tested mechanical and manual methods. Many of the machines made a little later are still in use today all around the world and are still producing accurate threads 60 years later. As time moved on Matrix adopted CNC systems instead of the manual methods and today our thread grinders use top of the range Siemens CNC controls with their Matrix own software for thread production. The machines are still manufactured in Coventry UK and over the last few years Matrix has moved into gear production with machines to sharpen hobs, grind gear forms and cut and grind small bevel gears. Gear manufacture is facilitated with intuitive Matrix gear grinding software. Our mission statement remains as always Accuracy, Innovation and Service.
