The Balkans countries led by Serbia have up and coming technology hubs and talent pool which still remains highly untapped and investments are growing, therefore many of those entrepreneurs have a potential to create global unicorns. However, one of the biggest challenges today is a shortage of capital and connections to the global ecosystem, especially major global cities such as London, SF and HK. We are in the process of establishing MVP, a venture capital fund, to support those founders ambitious enough to make a global impact and achieve a global success. The fund is sector agnostic, with the primary aim to invest in technology-enabled companies with a focus on e-commerce, fintech, mobility, gaming, infrastructure/AI, security and healthcare, largely at growth-stage phase but also seed and early stage too. The MVP aims to become the leading VC for the Balkans identifying and supporting the Region’s first unicorns.
A significant percentage of the £100m fund is aimed to be allocated for later stage and growth investments of up to £3-5 million per company, largely in Series A rounds, whereby the rest of the Fund will be invested in Series B & C and pre-IPO companies with a ticket size of £10-15m. These investments will be intended to fuel the international business expansion and growth of the most promising enterprises that can show traction and prove their potential to “make it big” and become new unicorns.
