McKenzie Planning Partnerships (MPP) is a specialist consultancy firm led by Director and Principal, Stewart McKenzie (MNZPI).
MPP supports organisations to deliver transformational plans and projects, and has quickly built an impressive reputation for delivering to client expectations. Stewart works in partnership with organisations and collaboratively within teams to expertly guide them through complex challenges, helping them to deliver plans and projects, achieve better outcomes and build in-house capability.
Stewart has 25-years experience in planning and related fields in New Zealand and the UK which he can draw on for the benefit of his clients. His knowledge and expertise extend across RMA, transport, infrastructure, energy and three waters planning and policy development, along with environmental assessment, property development, urban planning and regeneration, people leadership, programme management and project delivery.
Stewart has been called on to advise a range of industry groups, along with local government and government agencies on policy planning and implementation matters. He is a strong advocate for the planning profession, and enjoys mentoring planners and other professionals on their career journeys.
Prior to establishing MPP, Stewart was the City Planning Manager at Porirua City Council where he led the successful development of a new district plan, whilst also advising on a range of infrastructure projects and environmental initiatives, as well as advocating on regional and national policy matters.
Recently, he has supported Wellington City Council to help successfully deliver their new district plan. Along with the Wellington City Council, his current portfolio of clients includes Porirua City Council, Palmerston North City Council, The Wellington Company and Gillies Group.
