MCR MET Racing

MCR MET Racing is the official Formula Student team of Manchester Metropolitan University, founded in 2007. Our mission is to design, engineer, and manufacture a high-performance, single-seater race car to compete in the prestigious Formula Student competition at Silverstone, the world’s largest student motorsport event. Each year, we bring together a dedicated team of students from diverse engineering disciplines, working collaboratively across sub-teams including Chassis and Suspension, Electrical, Aerodynamics, and Powertrain. Through this project, our members gain hands-on experience in applying engineering principles to real-world challenges, developing critical skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and project management. Driven by passion and innovation, we aim to build competitive race cars and nurture the next generation of top-tier engineers.
