Since 2017, The Middlesex University’s Model UN (MDXMUN) Society has facilitated educational simulation and academic activity, allowing students to learn about and experience international relations, diplomacy, and the inner workings of the United Nations system. We have faith in the potential and competence of young individuals as upcoming global citizens and leaders. Our aim within this Society is to cultivate socially conscious young leaders and endow them with the agency to effectuate a constructive influence in the present moment.
The Middlesex University Model United Nations Society, an esteemed student-led organisation, remains dedicated to enriching students’ comprehension of the United Nations’ institutional and political mechanisms. The Society organises workshops, training sessions, and Model UN conferences, all meticulously designed to equip participants with the requisite knowledge, skills, and expertise to navigate the intricate world of international relations and diplomacy. The carefully crafted simulations are aimed at immersing students in the roles of diplomats representing various countries and organisations. They are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the institutional frameworks, policies, and decision-making processes that underpin the functioning of the UN.
The Society offers opportunities for its members to refine their oratory, diplomatic, and investigative proficiencies while availing themselves of training and feedback from senior pupils who function as mentors. The Society allows its members to participate in Model UN Conferences throughout the United Arab Emirates, thus enabling them to enhance and develop their skill sets. Students are encouraged to partake in recurrent mentoring sessions conducted frequently and led by experienced members of the MDX MUN Team.
