Al and Marla Mechling’s passion for researching their family history led to collecting and rebinding old county histories, which developed into a garage-based rebinding business in 1995. Since then, Mechling Bookbindery has grown into a 10,000-square-foot full-scale manufacturing facilty, located on Rt 38, 6 miles north of Butler, PA. For nearly two decades, the company has provided book printing, bookbinding and book restoration services. With the merging of world-known Bookbinders Workshop in 2013, Mechling Bookbindery’s list of services and products expanded to include high quality leathers, bookbinding supplies and training videos. All formatting, cover design, printing and binding are completed in house, where quality control is at its most precise. With the addition of its binding materials line, Mechling Bookbindery has a much wider selection of leather types and colors for its book binding customers; and can supply bookbinders and craftsmen with the world’s finest bookbinding leathers, tools, supplies and training videos.
