MEDEAS stands for "Modelling the Energy Development under Environmental And Socioeconomic constraints" and implements a new model that will help to define the future of the energy system in Europe.
MEDEAS model is based on WoLiM model, it considers TIMES and LEAP models and it incorporates Input-Output Analysis that allows for accounting of environmental, social and economic impacts. MEDEAS aims at developing a leading-edge modular tool to support the planning of policies that will favour the transition to a renewable-based European energy system.
MEDEAS project is funded by EU under the framework of the Horizon 2020 program and it is part of the LCE21 group: Modelling and analysing the energy system, its transformation and impacts (Social, environmental and economic aspects of the energy system).
