About Mental Health Commissioner for South Australia

The Mental Health Commissioner for South Australia helps whole of government to support the mental health and wellbeing of all South Australians. The role of the Commissioner was established by the South Australian Government to promote and advocate for the rights of all people relating to mental health and wellbeing. The Commissioner, Taimi Allan, is committed to community connection and hearing from people with lived experience of distress, the people who care about them, and those that work within the system to support others. Taimi works closely with Nadia Clancy, the Premier for South Australia's Advocate for Suicide Prevention, charities and national mental health bodies, to help improve mental health pathways. Dedicated to seeking opportunities, while influencing and informing government in decision making processes relating to mental health, Taimi works with the people of South Australia to positively shape the narrative in mental health. As a wellbeing warrior herself, Taimi and her small team of wellbeing warriors, welcomes everyone wanting to be a part of this journey. It is in working together that we will achieve great things. You can contact us direct at SAMHC@sa.gov.au.
