Metrefood Company was created to acquire the dormant brand, Metrecal, and bring it back to the American marketplace. It was originally launched by Mead Johnson back in 1959 and it was the original weight loss drink product, creating an entire new category in the market. The word "Metrecal" itself stands for "Metered Calories." It was eventually replaced in the market by competitors such as Slim Fast.
In 2004 we acquired the rights to Metrecal and relaunched it as a healthy snack drink for the baby boomers.
