The Metropolitan Affairs Coalition is a unique public/private partnership dedicated to equity and sustainability, creating economic opportunity, improving quality of life, and promoting regional cooperation in Southeast Michigan.
MAC promotes regional cooperation and dialogue, and works to advance policies and programs that respond to the region’s challenges and opportunities – with everyone at the table. Its main areas of focus include economic development, infrastructure, environment, education, and government effectiveness and efficiency.
MAC’s members believe that the only way to move the region forward is for leaders in business, labor, government and education to work together. Most of the region’s complex problems cannot be effectively addressed by any one sector, organization or governmental unit acting alone. MAC develops collaborative relationships, provides a forum for identifying and exploring issues, builds consensus, and communicates with the public, elected officials, opinion leaders, and diverse stakeholders to stimulate action in response to regional needs.
