Metung Hot Springs offers a truly spectacular bathing and resort experience just a 20-minute walk from the charming seaside village of Metung in Victoria’s beautiful East Gippsland region, about four hours’ drive from Melbourne. Nestled on 12 hectares of waterside wilderness bushland on an ancient hilltop escarpment, Metung Hot Springs gives visitors an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy breathtaking cliff-top views across the Gippsland Lakes as they bathe in natural, mineral-rich geothermal waters or enjoy an array of wellness and day spa amenities, activities and services. Initiated in 2018 by the founder and director of the internationally acclaimed and multi-award-winning Peninsula Hot Springs, Charles Davidson, in partnership with local Gippsland identities Adrian and Rachel Bromage, Metung Hot Springs is a flagship spa and wellness destination, forming part of the growing Great Victorian Bathing Trail that will eventually traverse almost the entire Victorian coastline. Garnering support from both state and local governments, including grant input from the East Gippsland Bushfire recovery fund, Metung Hot Springs is expected to generate 25 jobs during construction, extending to 45 when operational. Part of the Peninsula Hot Springs Group, which is now considered a world-leader in the spa, wellness and hot springs industries, Metung Hot Springs offers bathing and day spa experiences, glamping accommodation, bushwalks, group wellness classes, saunas, a gift shop, access to the adjacent 9-hole Metung Country Club Golf Course, and a cafe serving craft-style coffee and locally-sourced gourmet treats. Future plans for Metung Hot Springs include apartment accommodation, a marina and a holistic wellness centre.
