Op COURAGE is a dedicated NHS mental health service, developed by veterans, for veterans.
Midlands Op COURAGE is a partnership of eight specialist organisations that provide an integrated service across the whole Midlands region.
Through a veteran’s journey with the service their care and support could come from one, or several parts of the partnership. Veterans will always have one person responsible for overseeing their care, and all the organisations work together as a team to ensure the best outcomes for them and their family.
The first stage of the journey is a referral supported by Mental Health Matters who provide our referral and support lines.
From there, a veteran’s assessment, care planning and treatment will take place within our pathways provided by:
• Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - lead provider
• Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
• Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
• St Andrew’s Healthcare
Depending on their needs, a veteran could be offered a range of specialist support and treatment, tailored to their requirements.
Some of these interventions may also be provided by our partners in:
• Walking with the Wounded - providing therapy with their Head Start programme
• The Ripple Pond - providing specific support to families and carers of veterans
• Tom Harrison House - providing specialist addiction recovery programme for UK Armed Forces veterans with a 12 week residential programme
