How It All Began
You spend long days (even night shifts) wearing scrubs. So why shouldn’t they be as comfy as your Saturday morning sweats?
That’s the question that Milana founder Danny Maalouf kept coming back to after noticing that his wife, a nurse practitioner, spent tireless hours caring for others all while donning dull, slouchy scrubs. If his background in fashion taught him one thing, it’s that the right outfit can make all the difference in how we feel about ourselves. Before working at some of the biggest names in Canadian fashion, Danny spent his early years watching his father create patterns, cuts, and designs through the family fashion label, imparting the importance of using the proper fabrics and designing the just-right fit. After all, people dress for success in all sorts of industries — so why not medical? Giving healthcare workers access to uniforms that go with the latest trends is just one way Milana is helping those in healthcare feel their best while tending to their communities.
And that’s how Milana was born. Named after his two children Milan and Lana, Danny is on a mission to revamp the standard scrub and medical garb, transforming it into wearable styles that feel lightweight and look better than anything else on the market.
