Our aim is to provide high quality dried plant materials (botanicals, herbs, spices etc.) in sensible quantities direct to your door in biodegradable or recyclable packaging so that you can enjoy the myriad of benefits of these amazing ingredients without it costing you the earth! We are taking our 140 years of heritage and experience in the sourcing and supplying herbs and spices in bulk and using it to supply a wider range of smaller customers at quantities that suit more individual needs, typically will be aiming to supply from one kilo to five kilos or whole bags. Through experiment and tradition, herbs, spices and other botanicals have played a vital part in our journey of discovery in flavour, aroma, aesthetics and remedies. We have eaten them on their own, added them to our foods to transform taste, texture and aroma, sustained our animals on them, painted ourselves with extracts from them and used them for decoration of ourselves and our environment. We also learned over time that some had properties that relieved some of our suffering and aided recovery from certain ailments. Less frequently we have also used them as poisons. Plants are an essential part of our world and our existence and plant power is something to be harnessed for health and happiness. Humankind, like their ancestors, have depended on plant life for various aspects of their existence. Over many millennia we have developed and thrived on the power of plant life and by the time our forebears walked out of East Africa into the wider world, passed down experience had taught many qualities and dangers of the flora and fauna that graced our beautiful planet.
