Ministry of Crab is a celebration of Sri Lanka’s Regal Mud Crab. Opened in 2011, the restaurant was the first of its kind, focusing on the internationally famous (especially in Singapore) Sri Lankan Crab as the hero ingredient.
Founded by visionary chef-restaurateur Dharshan Munidasa together with Sri Lankan cricket legends Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara Ministry of Crab is situated in the historic 400-year old Dutch Hospital in the heart of Colombo. Ministry of Crab has the distinction of being one of only two restaurants in Sri Lanka to have been ranked on the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants List (2015 – 2022).
With restaurants in Shanghai, Chengdu, Bangkok and Maldives the restaurants continues to expand globally, recently opening in Singapore's vibrant Dempsey Hill, as part of its mission to share the goodness of Sri Lankan crabs with the rest of the world.
