M-Labs was started to help catalyze game-building in Pakistan. The mission is to lay the foundation of a game-centric ecosystem through a carefully designed intervention logic after analyzing the macro-environmental factors that have an impact on the overall technology sector and creative domain, which can, in turn, help the country to transition into a knowledge society. Not only will this aid in pointing us in the right direction by providing a better understanding of the game-building industry, but will also assist in promoting a “product & innovation mindset”. This mindset is critical for the country’s knowledge economy to make a mark on the global landscape. While doing so, the initiative envisions bringing huge socio-economic benefits to the country by working from the ground up and strengthening the base upon which the ecosystem can be built.
M-Labs runs Pakistan's largest game building programs with its Fellowship program. We also run Rookie Game Jame, Winter Game Jam and Out of Thin Air. Some of these games jams are now South Asia's biggest game jams.
