Montgomery Education Foundation

Montgomery Education Foundation (MEF) was founded in 2000 as a program of the Central Alabama Community Foundation and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. Community leaders recognized the importance of supporting the public school system as an investment in our children, our community, and our future. Since its founding, the foundation has focused its efforts on supporting the Alabama Reading Initiative, providing professional development for school administration and staff, the promotion of student achievement, the encouragement of public engagement, and the development of school readiness (Pre-K programs). MISSION Montgomery Education Foundation advocates for community involvement from every segment of the public. We believe in accountability and achievement of high standards and work for significant improvement in the quality of public education. MEF develops and grows opportunities for our local governments, businesses, individuals, and philanthropic foundations to become actively engaged as volunteers and/or investors for our public schools. VISION By leveraging community resources, volunteers, and research-based practices, MEF provides rich opportunities for schools, communities, and families to succeed.
