Monumentenraad Curaçao company information, Employees & Contact Information

The Monumentenraad van Curaçao is the official advisory council for the protection of our island’s built and archaeological heritage. Established by national ordinance in 1990, the council consists of experts in fields such as architecture, archaeology, urban planning, law, and cultural history. We advise the Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning on matters including: * Monument designation and deregulation * Permit requests for changes or demolition * Broader policies that affect heritage sites We also provide proactive advice, monitor the condition of protected sites, and promote the responsible development of Curaçao’s historic environment. Curaçao’s unique heritage, including the UNESCO-listed districts of Willemstad, deserves strong and independent oversight. Through collaboration with local stakeholders and heritage organizations, we help ensure this cultural legacy is preserved and passed on to future generations.
