Mostafa Salameh is one of just twenty people in history to have climbed the Seven Summits and conquered both the South and North Poles – a feat known as the 'Explorers Grand Slam.' Mostafa was never intending to become a climber when he was born in Kuwait to Palestinian refugee parents. His mountaineering career began in 2004 as a result of a dramatic dream involving divine intervention. After having a dream in which he was pronouncing the call to prayer from the world's highest mountain, a determined Mostafa followed his calling and became the first Palestinian-Jordanian to summit Mount Everest in 2008. That was also the year in which Jordan's King Abdullah II knighted Mostafa.
He is now an explorer, a motivational speaker, a fundraiser, and an author. Mostafa published his debut book, 'Dreams of a Refugee,' with Bloomsbury Publishing in March 2016. It was translated into Arabic in 2018. Mostafa published "Everest" in Arabic and English in 2019, the first of a seven-book series about his exploits. In 2021, Mostafa published "Journey of Ascension and Rising," an Arabic book describing the mountain's spiritual journey. Mostafa now juggles his sporting career with acting duties. He devotes a significant portion of his time to encouraging and motivating children, adolescents, and adults to pursue their own aspirations.
Helped fundraise more than $5 million for different charities like King Hussein Cancer Center, Badwa center for mental disabilities and UNRWA.
