The Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC) has a mandate to promote interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding, treating and preventing family violence and violence against women and children. Located at the University of New Brunswick, under the Faculty of Arts, the strength of MMFC relies on the collaborations between academic and community members.
Our Focus:
a) Conduct and encourage practice and policy-relevant research on family violence and violence against women and children
b) Focus on the dissemination of research findings to various target groups to influence policies or practices
c) Develop and offer targeted educational programs
The research agenda of the MMFC is continually evolving. The MMFC always welcomes suggestions for new research projects. Individuals or groups who are interested in conducting research under the auspices of the MMFC are encouraged to contact the Director or Associate Director.
