The coexistence of Yōkai with man often leads to parasitism. Satoshi Tajiri was obsessed with attract, and collect insects. The entomologist, together with Ken Sugimori, wanted Pokémon to allow children to catch mystic organisms – moving back and forth across the cable – exactly like he had in childwood. Mushi was the animation studio headed by mangaka Osamu Tezuka as the rival with Toei Animation. The Sleepless Castle pionereed cartoons such as Tetsuwan Atom and Kanashimi no Belladonna. 蟲 is an alternative version of 虫, one of the kanji of Tezuka's full name, which is spelled 手塚治虫 "Tezuka Osamu", 治 "Osa" 虫 "Mu". The reason why, given his passion for insects, Tezuka's nickname was Osamushi, came about by exploiting the alternative reading of the kanji 虫.
