My Midwives officially opened its doors in Toowoomba in November of 2010 and was the first private midwifery practice in Australia to gain visiting access; licencing and collaborative agreements with a hospital. This means our midwives are the lead carers for women who are admitted as private patients into the hospitals we have visiting rights.
Since the inception of the Toowoomba practice, the brand has grown to nine My Midwives Clinics across Australia with plans to continue expansion. In 2014 My Midwives was awarded the Heritage Bank Business of the Year.
The services that each practice provides are unique but all My Midwives provide the option of having one-on-one midwifery care (continuity of care) from the same midwife through pregnancy, birth and post birth or team midwifery care where a woman meets more than one midwife for her care. Some women choose to see a midwife for all or some of her care. My Midwives gives women the chance to experience one on one midwifery care from the moment they are pregnant, until their baby is around six weeks old.
