MyCall™
Introduction:
Road Accidents is a major cause of concern not just in India but to the whole globe itself (please read: Brasilia declaration.) But let’s restrict to Indian scenario here.
Just to give some numbers (2015) ..
- One Road Accident happened for every minute
- Loss to GDP due to Road Accidents alone is to the tune of 3.75%
- Only about 25-27% of accidents lead to deaths in the first hour – all the rest of deaths happen much later.
On analysis – it has been understood that if (a) Accident victim is provided help in the first hour (Golden Hour); and (b) help victim to *anchor* to the real world (and not slip into trauma) by providing communication to him; the Accident fatalities can be minimised to a great extent.
MyCall ™ - The Product
MyCall ™ operates in Passive Safety space of Automotives. It addresses the Safety aspect of Vehicle User by taking care of some of the points discussed above.
How does MyCall ™ work?
Let’s say, a Car with MyCall installed in it meets with an accident; then MyCall would
- Automatically detect the Accident (thru the Algorithms and Sensors) without the Driver triggering the Accident recognition process;
- Calls up the Driver’s emergency contacts and informs them of (a) the Accident, (b) its location, (c) speed of the vehicle; and (d) other details (so that his contact can immediately go there or at least provide relief)
- Calls up nearby Hospital and gives this accident data so that the Ambulance and other medical services can be arranged
- Calls up the Government Emergency care number – 112
- Calls up Towing Services to provide a possible Road side assistance
In a nutshell – this is what MyCall ™ does. As one can see, all possible areas of threat in an Accident are taken care of by MyCall ™.
