The Our Child Foundation was established as a non-profit organisation on 1 October 1993 with the aim of helping children at risk who find themselves in crises situation. Its first project was the national free of charge crisis Safety helpline for children and adolescents. At the same time foundation initiated and participated in establishing the Safety Hotline Association which was entrusted with the non-stop operation of Safety Helpline.
The founder and director of Our Child Foundation was Zuzana Baudyšová. In 2005, the foundation expanded its activities to help abused, exploited, disabled, at risk and abandoned children. The foundation also participated in projects focusing on children’s rights education and child protection awareness-raising activities. The foundation is very active in lobbying for the respect of children rights and child protection in both the Czech Republic and the EU.
