The National Service Scheme (NSS) VIIT unit is a vibrant student-led organization dedicated to social welfare and community development. With a legacy of 16 years and over 250 active volunteers, we are passionate about making a positive impact on society.
1) Our Core Activities:
a) Environmental Protection: We actively organize tree plantation drives and raise awareness about single-use plastic reduction.
b) Community Service: We contribute to our community through initiatives like cleanliness drives (Katraj Lake) and educational activities (CAMP 2023-24).
c) Health Awareness: We conduct health checkup camps under UBA and promote blood donation drives .
d) Civic Engagement: We encourage responsible citizenship through voter registration drives and awareness campaigns (Voter’s Registration Week).
e) Youth Development: We provide leadership training sessions and cultural programs to empower young minds.
f) Collaboration: We believe in collaborative efforts and partner with organizations like FIAPO, TAP 2SMILE, AISEC and SPO (Police Mitra) for impactful initiatives.
Our Achievements:
a) Recognized for our outstanding service with awards like Best Unit and Best Volunteer.
b) Biggest Technical unit in Maharashtra with 250+ Active volunteers
c) Sustainability:
Installed 128 solar lamps in Jamgaon village.
Developed a biogas plant in college premises and 11 in nearby villages.
d) Community Upliftment:
Constructed 121 toilets in Jamgaon, leading to its recognition as 'NIRMAL GRAM'.
Provided educational guidance to underprivileged students in Jamgaon.
e) Addressing Needs:
Installed a 6000-liter water filter in Mulshi village (collaboration with UBA VIIT, J Kumar Infra & Y S Tech).
Donated a rice dehusking machine for Jamgaon and Mulshi villages.
