Navitus Bay is a proposed wind park off the Dorset and Hampshire coasts, to the west of the Isle of Wight. It is a 50-50 Joint Venture between Eneco Wind UK Ltd (Eneco) and EDF energy. If the wind park goes ahead, Navitus Bay would have an approximate installed capacity of 1,100MW and will generate an annual amount of energy to power over 790,000 average UK households each and every year*.
*The figure has been calculated with a site-specific capacity factor of 35% and is based on DECC’s 2005-2011 average annual domestic household electricity consumption of 4,266kWh.
