NeuroSim is an interactive platform aiming to develop an understanding of the impact of strokes. Through animated diagrams, users can browse and learn about the the structure of brainstem blood flow, and how strokes cause brain problems, neurological problems that might hinder even the simplest daily activities.
According to the World Heart Federation, currently at least 15 million people suffers from strokes worldwide, of which one-third of the patients are left disabled. The disabilities range from difficulty in speech to paralysis, greatly affecting the patients' abilities to conduct normal everyday activities. Even with the greatest and fast-growing medical technology development, many are still left confused and anxious about what having a stroke means and what can be done, especially when a loved one is suffering from a stroke and its prolonged consequence. This is the reason why NeuroSim is established, to bridge the gap among the public, the neurological knowledge and the neurologists.
