The New Americans Campaign (NAC) is a national network of more than 200 non-partisan immigration organizations, legal services providers, faith-based organizations, immigrant rights groups, and foundations. Of the over nine million lawful permanent residents (LPRs) eligible to become U.S. citizens today, fewer than one million naturalize each year. The NAC launched in 2011 to increase the number of citizenship applications by removing barriers to naturalization through investments in naturalization service providers, capacity building, policy, and advocacy.
The NAC remains the most successful naturalization collaboration in the country and a model for other projects serving immigrant communities. Since the beginning of the Campaign, NAC sites and affiliates completed naturalization applications impacting over 582,000 lawful permanent residents (LPRs) and their derivatives from dozens of countries around the world. Just under 200,000 of them obtained reduced fee assistance or fee waivers and low-cost or free legal services, resulting in savings to the immigrant community of over $636 million.
