The New Democrat Coalition is a caucus in the House of Representatives with more than 90 Democrats focused on growing the economy and increasing opportunity. Founded in 1997, NewDems advocate within the Democratic Party and Congress for new ideas and new approaches to move America forward. The New Democrat Coalition represents more than forty percent of House Democrats.
Formed by Members of the New Democrat Coalition, the NewDem Action Fund helps protect and elect House NewDems. In 2018, NewDems delivered the Democratic Majority by flipping 32 of 40 net seats and injecting $18 million into the fight to elect House Democrats. In 2020, NewDems defended it by protecting 22 of our “frontline” Members, flipping 3 seats blue, and injecting over $23 million into the cycle.
