NEW LEAP INTIATIVE is the flagship innovation hub of K J Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Technology . The committee was formed with the vision of enabling knowledge among students and to inspire upcoming generation of satellite and payload makers .
The NLI Team has achieved numerous prestigious awards which includes bagging the title of Winner at Touch Jovian Moon Contest and 1st prize at UHF/VHF antenna making contest . NLI has also received Minor Research Grant from The Mumbai University .
Under the Guidance of our Faculty, the New Leap Initiative is now working on a 2p-PocketQube standard student nano-satellite 'BELIEFSAT' which will be launched out of 'SomaiyaPod ' , a Pocketqube standard deployer being indigenously developed at the institute.The satellite itself is a sub-part of team's proposal under PS4-Orbital platform program of ISRO, wherein, team aims to demonstrate indegenously developed technologies for PocketQube standard nano-satellites.
