NewPower Energy Systems is an early stage startup. We have developed a patent pending Concentrated Solar PV solution that solves the customer requirement of inexpensive solar units with a great land use, 1 MW in 3 acres at $2 to $2.2 per Wattp DC thats inclusive of full 2 axes tracking, modular scalable. Focus on US, India solar markets. Other markets like Europe, Canada and Australia could be tapped through technology transfer or through partnerships US solar market is expected to reach around 4.5 GW to 5.5 GW by 2014. India aims to achieve 1 GW by 2012 and 20 GW by 2022. 1) Better module packing means we are the only ones able to achieve 1 MW in 3 acres or less with full tracking 2) Unique structure that reduces costs by 40 % 3) Heat sink design which delivers better cooling allowing us to reach 15 to 20 degree above ambient temperature 4) Modular Scalable, lower maintenance Current Status 1) Initial design modeling done, Prototype built 2) Three US provisional patents filed 3) Formed Advisory board of industry leaders 4) Firmed up manufacturers, supplier 5) Letter of Intent to buy from customer. 6) Seeking seed funding to commerciali $500,000 is being requested at around 20-25% equity to optimize the system and build the pilot which should take around 9 months. Based on this contracts for larger units would be signed with solar project owners.
