nextGenergy is an advisory and sales 'not only for profit' business.
Its founder, Shirley Paterson, established nextGenergy in August 2012 after achieving an outstanding reduction in her home energy bill through having the following installed: underfloor insulation, LED lighting, solar pv, an energy management system, smart plugs, a smart switch making use of surplus generation and radiator reflector panels. Soon she will be driving an electric car, charging up when possible from her own home's generation.
For 7 months prior to setting up the business her home's story had been on the Energy Saving Trust's Green Homes Network, ref SE583. She volunteered time allowing those interested to visit her home to see and learn about the technologies she'd had installed. Now she works with businesses, charities and clubs as well as householders.
Shirley is now a Domestic Energy Assessor and Green Deal Advisor, predominantly working with householders in Fife, and with her technology customers throughout Scotland.
