NIDO Montessori School is an international kindergarten fully licensed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation in Kosovo.
Founded in 2021, NIDO Montessori School aims to provide high-quality Montessori education in Kosovo. Our curriculum is centered around STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fields and integrates Montessori methodologies to keep children engaged while nurturing a natural love for learning. We adhere to the five core principles of Montessori education as originally developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.
Practical Life: Children will acquire basic courtesy and grace skills, along with practical activities such as sewing, scrubbing, gardening, mopping, and polishing. These skills lay the foundation for other activities, fostering independence and self-help.
Sensorial: Through sensorial materials, children explore language, mathematics, geometry, art, and music. This hands-on learning approach helps children understand the world through their “sensitive periods.”
Language: Language development occurs naturally through human interaction. Children use words to describe their experiences and develop reading and writing skills by building a rich vocabulary.
Math: Children are naturally drawn to numbers and math, an intellectual product. They will learn to count, understand the decimal system, and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Art: Art allows children to express their feelings and develop creativity. In a Montessori environment, art is the only open-ended activity, and teachers encourage children to use art as a means of communication.
Our school is situated in the tranquil Kalabria neighborhood of Pristina, away from traffic and city noise. Our state-of-the-art classrooms feature abundant natural light, separate dining areas, and an indoor play area where children can spend time during periods of high air pollution in Pristina.
