Nirapad Sarak Chai is a non-profit social organization established on 1st December 1993 after the sad demise of Jahanara Kanchan wife of renowned film star Ilias Kanchan on 22nd October, 1993. Since then NISCHA has been working tirelessly all these years to create awareness of road and traffic safety among the general public and government advocacy in Bangladesh to make roads safer and to reduce the number of deaths and injuries due to road crash through evidence based campaigns and project. NISCHA has 112 branches spread across Bangladesh.
Nirapad Sarak Chai has now taken the shape of a popular movement in Bangladesh. NISCHA through its years of lobbying to the government has established 22nd October as the National Road Safety Day of Bangladesh.
