NORDIC EMOTIONS
2005, Copenhagen, December.
My first walk in Strøget, the historical center of the Danish capital: arrived in the main square a place opens before my eyes that, from that moment, will be for me the "Sanctuary of design", a magical, exciting place, where spending hours and hours learning about a culture that I had just approached and that I was about to start loving. Illums Bolighus: for the Danes only one of the various "department stores" in which to make their purchases, for me, however, from then on a continuous source of inspiration for the research of detail, the knowledge of brands, the incredible ability to romanticize an inanimate object, capturing its essence and explaining the idea that guided the designer's hand.
In the following 13 years in which I distributed many of the most famous Danish Brands throughout Italy, I had the pleasure of getting to know Scandinavian design and Nordic culture, and I understood that to truly appreciate it, one must know it. Each object is the result of years of study, failed attempts, research into materials, forms: it is the sublimation of an idea that the individual has the wonderful possibility of freely interpreting.
Nordic Emotions is born with the same philosophy: we draw the dots, but you have to connect them.
