Thermal modification is the process of super heating bio-materials at temperatures of between 165° and 190° in an oxygen-depleted environment. The use of the vacuum allows to prevent the wood from burning.
This process can be applied to both hard- and softwood in 1mm-500mm thickness.
With no chemicals used in the process, any wood species are treated with thermal modification to create an extremely stable and durable product. Depending on the wood species and colour you would like to achieve, the thermal modification process can lasts 1-24 hours.
