We are a small friendly club based on a 3km stretch of the River Nene. NRC shares facilities with the Nene Whitewater Centre. The centre is also home to the Northampton Canoe and Kayak Club. Within the centre are full changing and showering facilities, a café and a training room, which stores 12 rowing machines, swingulator and gym. Our boathouse provides storage for a full variety of boats ranging from single sculls to eights.🚣
NRC, although small, has a varied membership, with some members having competed at national events such as The National Schools Regatta, Henley Women's Regatta, Henley Royal Regatta and The National Rowing Championships of Great Britain.🏆
However, if you do not wish to row competitively, NRC could also be the club for you. We have a number of recreational members and are always looking for coxes to steer our boats to success. If you are small, confident and like the idea of giving orders, then coxing could be for you. Rowing is a sport, which can be enjoyed by people of both genders and all ages. So whether you are an experienced rower who wishes to test our waters or just curious about trying the sport, please contact the club captain to see what we can offer. 💪
