In the last decade, many people in the Northeast have worked together to build a local beer and bread supply chain from the ground up. In fact, the number of people touching local grains, in some way, is now in the hundreds. Consumers can now find beers, baked goods, and spirits with local flour and local malt. We see tasting events, social media, traditional media, an image/logo, collaboration projects, annual symposium tied to a public festival, a calculator that allows for formulating acreage to a beer or bread, and many other consumer-focused initiatives.
