Teaching Perspective
The intention of the New School of Mathematics is simple: to give the minimum of instructions to the student so that she is the one who finds the way. We do not want to be a traditional school where the student first listens, and then repeats specific exercises.
We want to do it the other way around:
We want to listen to the student first, what problem she wants to solve. Then we ask what ideas he has and from there we encourage him to explore those that we as teachers or guides we know they can fix the problem. The intention is for the student to work and think for herself, and is not limited to copying and repeating mechanically as is currently the case in almost all schools of Catalonia.
