NPSIA Students' Association Overview
About Us: The NPSIA Students Association (NSA) promotes social interaction and a sense of community for graduate students at NPSIA and acts as a catalyst for the collective NPSIA voice and its activities. Our Mandate The NSA is committed to serving students of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs by helping to foster an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and professionally. In working to enrich and support the NPSIA community, the Students’ Association functions to help ensure a memorable graduate student experience. What We Do: The NSA seeks to holistically address the needs of NPSIA students. Through biweekly meetings under the leadership of the co-Presidents, the Students’ Association works to be a liaison between the NPSIA faculty and the student body. We work hard to plan enriching events, to support students in their academic and professional pursuits, and to open and facilitate lines of communication between NPSIA students, staff, faculty, and alumni–as well as with the Ottawa community and other student groups and associations with an interest in international affairs. Each year, the NSA strives to offer excellent student programming, inclusive of hosting the annual NPSIA Soiree, holding the annual NPSIA academic workshop, and publishing the annual edition of the Norman Paterson Review. The NSA also offers monthly social events, such as pub nights, group skates, cottage weekends, and game nights.
