Observatory "Gender, Work And Power" company information, Employees & Contact Information

ISEG has been a leading research institution in the field of gender, work and the economic life, covering analysis on gender inequalities in employment and the gender pay gap, as well as studies on gender asymmetries in economic power and decision-making. The creation of Gender, Work and Power Observatory is designed to streamline research and disseminate outputs on these topics. Created within the framework of Policy Lab of ISEG Research, this research infrastructure seeks to place scientific knowledge at the service of social change, promoting the full and equal participation of women and men in public and private life, the full realization of their citizenship, the deepening of social justice, and the sustainable development of Portuguese society. With this in mind, the Gender, Work and Power Observatory will: • Offer an Information Repository, covering academic work, scientific publications, resources (legal standards and guidelines), and news on the topics addressed by the Observatory; • Provide regular and timely information on the situation of women and men in paid and unpaid work, pay inequalities (gender pay gap), and asymmetries in economic power and economic decision-making; • By engaging various key stakeholders in the field - scientific associations, women's associations, employers’ confederations, trade unions, supervisory and regulatory bodies, government, or governmental agencies – promote the public debate and facilitate the translation of evidence into practice in issues concerning the reduction of gender inequalities in work (paid and non-paid), in economic power and decision-making. These activities are supported by a team of leading researchers from the ISEG Research / Policy Lab unit, headed by Sara Falcão Casaca, Maria João Guedes, Ricardo Rodrigues e Susana Ramalho Marques. Reflecting the inclusive nature of its aims and mission, the Observatory will actively engage younger scholars (PhD and Master students) in its activities.
